A film review: The Shining

Te Shining was directed by the genius Stanley Kubric in 1980. It was based on the novel with the same name that was written by Stephen King. The film was the first success in Jack Nicholson's career.
The film was set in a hotel in the north of the States in the earlier eighties and it was filmed in a studio.
The film is about the life of a family who was hired to run a hotel in the mountains during a freezing winter when nobody stayed or worked there. The man who decided to take the job was a writer who couldn't concentrate on his new book so he thought that he could earn some money living in a quiet and lonely hotel. This new home seemed to be perfect to focus on his new book, but when they were there they discovered it wasn't as normal as they thought. Strange things happened to each member of the family and when they started losing their mind they realised it hadn't been such a good idea to be alone in the middle of the mountains.
I strongly recommend this film, because all of its components; interpretations, soundtrack, scenes and the plot were perfect. The atmosphere is so scary that you can feel the cool air around you. It also isnpired a mini-chapter of the series "The Simpsons".

Advice: "It's really a masterpiece of the seventh art. If I had to describe the movie with only one word I would say TERRIFIC."

Lea´s qualification: EXCELLENT.
